The Electrical Sourcing Specialist is responsible for researching electrical products and components, negotiating pricing, establishing Special Pricing Agreements (SPAs), managing supplier contracts, obtaining competitive quotes, confirming supplier lead-times, and ensuring product availability to satisfy customer and project requirements.
Requirements
- Research and obtain quotes, lead-times, and availability for electrical products based on customer and project requests
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements with manufacturers and distributors
- Establish, manage, and track Special Pricing Agreements (SPAs) with key suppliers
- Source materials including but not limited to: switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, PLCs, instrumentation, wire & cable, conduit, fittings, enclosures, and automation components
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through contract leverage, volume discounts, and strategic supplier relationships
- Evaluate alternative manufacturers and substitute products when supply constraints arise
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of electrical supply chains within oil & gas and industrial sectors
- Create and maintain a database of preferred and alternative electrical suppliers by product category
- Establish new part numbers within ERP software and initiate new supplier setup
- Enter supplier part data including manufacturer part numbers, lead-times, and vendor pricing into ERP software
- Prepare and process purchase orders for non-stocked electrical materials
- Coordinate with Electrical Operations to confirm specifications and project timelines
- Track and report sourcing activity metrics, supplier performance, and realized savings to Management
- Support quarterly inventory counts and cycle counts
- Prioritize continuous improvement initiatives to improve sourcing performance and supplier relationships
- Maintain a professional, solution-oriented approach in high-demand situations
- Perform other duties as assigned
