Data Engineer, Aladdin Engineering, Vice President

The Data Engineer role at BlackRock is responsible for building resilient systems that power global post-trade operations. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in building production data systems and demonstrated ownership of data modeling and data pipeline engineering.

Requirements

• B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of experience building production data systems
• Strong SQL skills (advanced querying, query plans, performance tuning)
• Hands-on experience in Snowflake and/or Microsoft SQL Server
• Proven experience with data modeling for analytics and translating business concepts into robust schemas
• Hands-on experience crafting and deploying ELT/ETL pipelines
• Proficiency in at least one general-purpose language used for data engineering
• Working knowledge of modern data engineering practices
• Strong communication skills
