Job Description
Project Design Engineer responsible for producing complete designs of architectural and perimeter security products for various customers and clients, including the US Government.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance (Secret)
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (Structural, Mechanical, Architectural) and 3+ years of experience, or in lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience performing in a similar role
- Structural and Architectural/Civil Engineering focus preferred
- Excellent in problem-solving
- Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings
- Strong technical expertise related to design and construction
- Proficiency in Autodesk products (Inventor and AutoCAD)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Basic understanding of project management, document control, and product lifecycle management software (Autodesk Vault). Autodesk Revit, and fusion 360 knowledge a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel occasionally both domestically & internationally (5-10%)
- Knowledge of Department of State building engineering standards, design for forced entry resistance and ballistic resistance (FE/BR), façade design, architectural design, and construction specifications is desirable but not required
- Highly detail-oriented in design, drafting, and coordination of project objectives.
- Ability to interpret spatial conditions and constraints to ensure accurate product fitment, alignment, and integration within assemblies and overall project environments.
- Proficient in using AutoCAD 2D and Inventor in combination.
- Strong understanding of fundamental engineering disciplines, including: Mechanical aptitude, Structural aptitude, Civil aptitude
- Able to learn and adapt to existing company norms without attempting to alter established processes.
