Mechanical Engineer - Design & Analysis (late Career)

Blue Origin is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Design & Analysis to join its team in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will have experience in design, build, and commissioning of tooling, fixtures, custom machines, and design support equipment for manufacturing, assembly, and test. The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical design and analysis, CAD software, and industry standards such as ASME Y14.5 and ASME BTH-1.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
• 10+ years' experience with design, build, and commissioning of tooling, fixtures, custom machines or design support equipment for manufacturing, assembly, and test
• Experience with FEM and complex structural analysis in addition to the ability to perform hand calculations including the creation of Freebody diagrams
• Proven experience with CAD based design software for modeling and drafting
• Basic understanding of common manufacturing materials, GD&T, and tolerance/stack-up analysis
