Overnight Veterinary Assistant - Emergency

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Midtown, NYC is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Overnight ER Veterinary Assistant to join our team! As an Emergency Veterinary Assistant, you will assist with nursing care, perform diagnostics, administer medications, and engage with clients.

Requirements

• Assist with nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
• Stock, clean and maintain cleanliness in our ER, ICU and other designated areas for the role.
• Understand classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.
• Perform radiography and lab work.
• Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Engage with our clients by performing triages, going over estimates and providing discharge instruction.
• Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrates proficiency in designated role as assigned by attending clinician and/or supervisor.
