Job Description
Vice President Database Engineer role at BNY in New York, NY, involves leading database engineering applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting technical issues, and delivering strategic data solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
- 7-9 years of experience in software development
- Experience developing Oracle and Snowflake
- Strong database experience with relational databases, including data modeling, query optimization, and stored procedures
- Familiarity with containerization and cloud environments (e.g. Docker and Kubernetes)
- Understanding of CI/CD processes, code reviews, and secure coding practices
- Ability to work with APIs for integration and communication across systems
- Experience with scripting using Unix (preferred)
- Experience with messaging (Kafka is preferred)
- Experience building a client-facing reporting application (a plus)
