Job Description
This Tax Registration Specialist I position provides excellent customer service as the first point of contact for taxpayers, collecting occupational license fees, net profit taxes, and business license fees, and cross-training in all aspects of the occupational license department.
Requirements
- Graduation from a standard high school or vocational school, or the equivalency
- Experience in clerical and bookkeeping work, or a combination of relevant education and experience
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Clear and concise writing skills
- Ability to comprehend and interpret legal documents, instructions, and regulations
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic
- Ability to identify problems, analyze data, and formulate logical conclusions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of Boone County local ordinances and general local government laws
- Understanding of governmental accounting principles
