Laboratory Technician (Quality)

BorgWarner is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Laboratory Technician (Quality) to provide support to different departments by performing product testing and/or equipment calibration. The role requires a strong understanding of customer engineering specifications, product audit processes, and quality systems in test laboratories (ISO 17025).

Requirements

• Audit processes based on the control plan
• Operate test equipment for production parts
• Perform customer test and engineering specifications
• Analyze issues using statistical tools
• Conduct technical analysis of failed products
• Prepare technical reports
• Coordinate with related departments the implementation and maintenance of the product measurement and evaluation system
• Provide guidance to involved areas on measurement systems and instruments
• Perform dimensional evaluations of purchased and manufactured products versus specifications
• Approve or reject measurement equipment based on statistical results
• Evaluate and determine the disposition of inspected products
• Provide metrology services to users who request them
• Define product evaluation methods
• Establish certification methods for measurement instruments and equipment
• Determine inspection and measurement equipment evaluation priorities
• Maintain compliance with regulations, procedures, practices, and training as outlined in the BorgWarner SLP Internal Work Regulations
• Perform validation and calibration routines to evaluate and control electrical and electronic measurement equipment used in the process
• Actively participate in the Annual Physical Inventory
