AmeriCorps Members serve our community while gaining experience working with youth, providing small group tutoring and mentoring support, and implementing educational programs covering Literacy, STEAM, Mentoring, and Athletics.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school graduate, GED recipient, or working towards attaining during the term of service
- US Citizenship or permanent residency status (Green Card)
- At least one year of experience working with children
- The ability to create strong relationships with youth in a short period of time
- An interest in a variety of youth programs including technology, art, sports, STEM, mentoring, and recreation
- Must complete a health physical and TB test
- 3 letters of reference upon selection
- Clearances Act 33, Act 34, Act 151 and NSOR letter. Complete the National Service Criminal History Check (Possible additional clearances)
- Mandated Reporter Certification within 30 days of hire
- CPR and Pediatric First Aid training to be completed during orientation
