The Environmental Health Housing Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the Council discharge their statutory obligations in respect of the appropriate function. The role involves improving the quality of housing, protecting the health and safety of residents, and enforcing Housing legislation and standards.
Requirements
- Recent suitable and practical experience of enforcement in private sector housing.
- Recent experience of surveying Houses in multiple occupation and drafting schedules of work.
- Recent experience of investigating complaints and dealing with enquiries in relation to the Housing Act 2004.
- Recent experience of undertaking enforcement action under the HHSRS of the Housing Act 2004.
- Recent experience of processing and assessing the suitability of HMO licence applications.
- Recent experience of powers under the Housing and Planning Act 2016.
- A recognised two-day HHSRS assessors training course.
