Job Description
This position is for a Heavy Equipment Operator III - Road and Bridge operating and maintaining equipment used for road construction and maintenance. The operator will assist in the construction and repair of roads, culverts, ditches, and bridges, performing tasks such as operating equipment, patching potholes, and ensuring safe operation. Supervision is primarily non-supervisory.
Requirements
- Operates 18-wheeler, backhoe, rubber tire loader, steel roller, rubber roller, tractor, and shredder for county road maintenance.
- Performs vehicle maintenance, including checking oil, tires, and hydraulic systems.
- Performs road repair and cleanup.
- Loads heavy equipment and materials.
- Drives trucks to haul materials.
- Reads road maps and maintains awareness of hazards.
