The Juvenile Public Defender provides legal services to indigent defendants in felony and misdemeanor cases, with primary responsibility for handling the felony case load. Additional responsibilities include assisting in misdemeanor caseload, trial preparation, and trials.

Requirements

• Juris doctor degree from accredited law school
• Five or more years of experience involving representation of juvenile clients in state courts
• Member in good standing of the State Bar of Texas
• Valid driver’s license
