Bright Machines is looking for a Site Automation Engineer to work in Cork, Ireland. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, with a strong background in automation and robotics. They will be responsible for maintaining the performance and reliability of robotic assembly systems, interacting with customers, and collecting feedback for continuous improvement. The role involves traveling up to 25% and working on 2nd shift. Requirements
- 5+ years in a customer-facing technical role
- Experience in an automation and robotics environment
- Associate's Degree (Mechanical or Electrical), Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Automation, robotics, and PLC experience
- Robotics preferable: FANUC IR + FANUC DCS knowledge
- PLC preferable: Beckhoff PLC
- Experience using Vision systems for inspection and point of interest interpolation
- Preferable MATROX and COGNEX
- General understanding of vision systems and optics
- Experience with labeling applications
- Industrial printers
- Preferable: HERMES and ZEBRA
- Understanding of complex programming (nested recipes)
- Confidence around electro-mechanical systems and a zest for diagnosing new systems with complex failure modes
- Technical documentation experience (reading, creating, editing)
- Understanding of electrical and pneumatic documentation
- Understanding of 2D and 3D mechanical documentation
- Basic skill/experience with 3D CAD software
- Ability to repair and maintain mechanical systems
- Self starter with ability to work productively with minimal supervision
- Calm, collected demeanor and commitment to customer service
- Good reporting, data collection, and analysis skills
