Requirements
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and scopes of work to develop accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors related to mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping.
- Coordinate pricing and scope alignment with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) contractors, specialty vendors, and suppliers.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and subcontractor audits as needed.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and RFP/RFQ documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for piping, heat pumps, mechanical equipment, and related components.
- Analyze historical cost data and market conditions to ensure competitive pricing.
- Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and constructability considerations.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure smooth handoff from estimate to execution.
- Maintain estimating databases, templates, and cost libraries.
- Assist with post-bid reviews and cost variance analysis.
