Mechanical Engineer

Brookhaven National Laboratory is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and build the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC). The successful candidate will work with a team of engineers and scientists on mechanical components, systems, and equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field of study
• Minimum seven (7) years progressively responsible related work experience
• Experience with creative engineering projects, working hands-on with mechanical equipment, and collaborating with a team to develop and build unique equipment
• Demonstrated ability with 3D Computer Aided Design modeling software
• Experience with ANSYS or equivalent thermal and stress engineering FEA software
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
