We're seeking a highly skilled Tattoo Art Instructor to bring extensive professional tattoo experience and a commitment to mentoring the next generation of tattoo artists in a structured educational environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of at least 8–10 years of experience as a professional tattoo artist or comparable professional experience in the tattoo industry.
- Candidates must demonstrate strong technical skills, professional portfolio, and knowledge of industry standards and safety practices.
- Ability to teach foundational tattoo techniques, including line work, shading, color application, stencil preparation, machine setup, and equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation standards, including bloodborne pathogen protocols and best practices in professional tattoo environments.
- Teaching experience in formal or informal educational settings; knowledge of the applications of instructional technology; ability to develop effective pedagogy for higher education.
- Demonstrated ability to teach tattoo art and mentor emerging artists, with special consideration given to candidates with shop ownership or experience training apprentices.
- Ability to critique student work constructively and guide students in building professional portfolios and preparing for careers in tattoo art.
