Category Buyer

Building Products Inc. (BPI) is seeking a Category Buyer in the Procurement department to coordinate and report on supply and demand for assigned products, source costs for new materials and products, and work closely with employees across the organization to keep everyone informed on current requirements.

Requirements

• Analyzing and directing the allocation of materials, supplies, and products.
• Evaluating market dynamics and insights to improve and forecast operational performance.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and clients.
• Designing strategies to minimize costs and streamline storage and transport of goods.
• Reviewing logistical systems, identifying gaps, and recommending improvements.
• Gathering and analyzing supply chain data to support process optimization and cost reduction.
• Monitoring operations including sourcing, scheduling, warehousing, production, and delivery.
• Investigating and resolving inefficiencies within the supply chain.
• Communicating with internal teams to identify and implement performance improvements.
• Creating reports and presenting key findings to management.
• Negotiating with vendors and carriers to secure pricing and ensure contract compliance.
• Coordinating delivery schedules and other supply chain activities.
• Maintaining assigned item databases and ensuring ERP compliance with company policies.
