Assistant Produce Department Manager

Supports the direction and supervision by the Department Produce Manager in all functions and activities of Produce Department personnel to achieve sales and profit goals.

Requirements

• Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
• Assists the Department Produce Manager with the successful operation of the department
• Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services provided
• Maintains the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the department
• Works directly with the Department Produce Manager in ordering product to meet the needs of the produce department
• Pulls out of date product from the produce areas
• Ensures company standards for safety, sanitation and productivity are maintained
• Teaches, mentors and educates associates to help them be successful members of the team
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Department Manager and/or Store Manager
• Consistent and daily interaction with store associates, customers, and vendors
