Special Education Teacher with Animal Assisted Therapy Experience

The Calais School is a state-approved private special education school in Northern New Jersey, serving students in grades K–12 Plus with multiple learning disabilities, anxiety, mood and behavioral challenges, and autism spectrum disorders.

Requirements

• Valid New Jersey Teacher of the Handicapped License or Teacher of Students with Disabilities
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in special education
• Experienced with special needs students and their parents
• Demonstrated experience with Animal-Assisted Therapy
• Effective communicator with strong oral and written skills that work with all audiences
• Demonstrate creativity, flexibility, and perseverance in dealing with challenging learning, behavioral, family, and classroom situations
• Maintain confidentiality
