Job Description
Calico is seeking a Scientist, Biochemical Assays to lead the design, optimization, and implementation of complex biochemical assays to support drug discovery efforts. The successful candidate will perform advanced hands-on laboratory work while managing external Contract Research Organizations (CROs) to scale capabilities.
Requirements
- PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Pharmacology, or a related field
- 3+ years of industry experience in biochemical assay development
- Extensive knowledge of steady-state kinetics, enzyme inhibition modes, and protein-ligand interactions
- Experience with laboratory automation platforms and specialized software
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, flexible, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Benefits
- Estimated base salary range: $156,000 - $163,000
- Two annual cash bonuses
