The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics LLC (CAO) is seeking an Occupational Therapist with a focus on Hand and Upper Extremity Therapy to join our dedicated therapy team. In this role, the Occupational Therapist will administer specialized occupational therapy treatments tailored to individuals with injuries, illnesses, or dysfunction affecting the hand and upper extremities.
Requirements
- Provides direct patient care 100% of the time, including all required documentation in patients’ medical records.
- Conducts comprehensive evaluations to determine appropriate courses of care for each patient.
- Administers hand and upper extremity therapy within the scope of occupational therapy to reduce pain, increase range of motion and strength, and promote function.
- Meets or exceeds CAO productivity standards as provided by their respective division.
- Regularly assesses the effects of treatments, at a minimum every 30 days, and adjusts treatment plans to maximize patient benefit.
- Documents treatments, responses, progress, and outcomes according to federal and state regulations and CAO requirements.
- Supervises occupational therapy assistants and related support staff during treatments, following state OT Practice Act and federal regulations.
- Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with other medical providers to support patient recovery and achieve successful outcomes.
- Actively participates in the Therapy team, including attending staff meetings, CAO-sponsored events, webinars, in-services, and departmental meetings.
- Assists with the smooth operation of the clinic, including adjustments in scheduled hours and staffing at other CAO locations as needed.
- Obtains necessary CEUs and meets state-specific requirements to maintain an active Occupational Therapy license and any other required certifications.
