Capital Group is seeking a Research Associate in Emerging Markets & Investment Grade Corporates. The role involves conducting bottom-up fundamental research and analysis to drive investment decisions. Candidates must have 2-5 years of experience in credit research or a related field and a strong desire to continue developing bottom-up fundamental credit research skills.
Requirements
- 2ā5 years of experience in credit research, investment banking, buyside/sell-side research or a related field
- Strong desire to continue to develop bottom-up fundamental credit research skills
- Experience with fundamental credit analysis, working with sell-side firms and industry consultants, Bloomberg, utilizing research tools, trade publications, online sources, regulatory filings, etc.
- Intellectually sharp, detail-oriented and able to ramp quickly across new issuers, sectors and geographies while producing accurate, high-quality work
- Proactive self-starter who takes ownership, keeps research processes moving and exercises sound judgment in ambiguous or evolving situations
- Ability to synthesize complex credit issues into actionable investment insights
- Experience developing and maintaining charts, financial analyses and visualizations that support credit research and communicate investment conclusions effectively
- Ability to thrive in team settings, ask good questions, bounce ideas off others and proactively share your perspective
- Inquisitive mind, demonstrating intellectual curiosity and analytical skills in areas of high complexity surrounding financial markets and industry trends
- Ability to apply sound judgment in resolving conceptually complex matters
- Ability to collaborate and develop/maintain relationships both inside and outside the organization
- Comfortable using AI / LLM tools to improve research productivity (ChatGPT, Claude Code/Claude Excel)
