Senior Data Scientist, Customer Conversion

CarMax is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to develop and maintain ML models and analytical frameworks that directly influence how customers interact with CarMax. The role requires 1-2 years of experience in developing and maintaining ML/AI models, evaluating model performance, and designing statistical tests. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, a strong results focus, project management, and teamwork experience, and a degree in Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in developing and maintaining ML/AI models
• Evaluating and assessing model performance
• Designing and analyzing statistical tests
• Python, SQL, and other languages appropriate for large scale analysis of numerical and textual data
• Experience in developing or applying knowledge of model interpretability, natural language processing, or large language models
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong results focus, project management, & teamwork
• Degree in Statistics, Data Science, or a related field
