Job Description
Join the Carnegie Mellon University Department of Mechanical Engineering as a Research Assistant in the FORGE Lab, conducting research on machine learning methods for predicting the influence of geometry-based boundary conditions on physics behavior in additive manufacturing, and developing and evaluating geometry-aware surrogate models.
Requirements
- Conduct research under PI supervision
- Contribute to manuscripts and lab activities
- Present results at lab meetings
- Develop neural network models for geometry representation (point clouds, meshes, or neural fields) applied to physical surrogate modeling.
- Generate and curate training data from numerical simulations of manufacturing processes.
- Document methods and results for publications and technical reports.
