The job of the Domestic Freight Coordinator is to coordinate the movement of domestic sourced finished goods citrus commodities from packinghouse and third party logistics to specified points of destination.
Requirements
- Conducts domestic dispatch operations of fruit and citrus products to the different modes of transportation carriers.
- Coordinates with all Sunkist operating departments as well as Sunkist fresh fruit sales office personnel for the daily operations of outgoing and incoming shipments.
- Manages and monitors the day-to-day shipments of orders moving across the U.S. on railroad.
- Handles related service issues problems that arise from shipments such as rejections, diversions and detention delays at origins.
- Manages the less than truckload (LTL) consolidations for California and Arizona.
- Monitors shipments in transit and takes corrective action with carriers.
- Works directly with transportation carriers to secure and maintain the required level of service.
- Advises Sunkist operating departments and Sales personnel concerning transit schedules, equipment availability and rates.
- Coordinates all Sam's and Walmart over the road truckloads as well as their LTL cross dock program.
- Establishes, monitors and maintain carrier operating authorities and up to date insurance policies.
- Monitors carrier freight payables and corrects EDI billing errors related to the Sunkist B2B web application.
- Monitors and utilizes the ERP system transportation processing features for proper handling of Sunkist company and sales office arranged transportation requests and instructions.
- Maintains regular and timely attendance.
- Accomplishes department goals and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Maintains a neat work area.
- Maintains a professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
- Attends meetings as requested.
