Job Description
The Assistant Cook assists the Cook to prepare and distribute congregate meals, cleans kitchen area and appliances, and maintains sanitary and health standards according to DOH and funding source regulations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Valid Food Handler's Protection Certificate
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen
- Ability to prepare nutritious and appealing meals
- Ability to operate independently in the Cook's absence
- Ability to travel to multiple locations within the five boroughs as needed
- Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds
