Maternal and Child Health Educator

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet offers a unique opportunity to work in a Head Start program, providing comprehensive early childhood education and supporting families. The Maternal and Child Health Educator will implement program performance standards, manage a case load, and develop record-keeping and reporting systems. The role requires a strong understanding of maternal-infant health and child abuse/neglect dynamics, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in human services, social service, or related field; or Licensed Practical Nurse with current Illinois license
• Minimum of one year of experience in maternal and child health or related social services field with pregnant women and/or young children
• Bilingual Spanish oral and written skills preferred
• Knowledge of maternal-infant health and child abuse/neglect dynamics
• Familiarity with health resources in Will and surrounding counties
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse cultures and backgrounds
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Passage of background clearance, physical, and TB test, with valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of liability insurance
