Job Description
Caxton Associates is seeking an experienced Database and Reporting Lead to build and lead our Bangalore database development function.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience working extensively with relational databases in a hands-on capacity
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, with solid experience in Microsoft SQL Server
- Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and troubleshooting database performance issues
- Practical experience using Python for database automation, ETL, and data transformation
- Experience building reports and dashboards using Tableau
- Experience working with AWS RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and Amazon S3
- Proven experience in leading / managing teams in a high-performance environment
- Experience with Iceberg table architectures (AWS-managed or open-source) is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with Parquet based data formats is a plus
- Proven ability to lead technically, mentor others, and collaborate with senior stakeholders
- Experience in database maintenance tasks, backups, restores, security management, and disaster recovery
- Experience in financial services environments is preferred
