Youth Engagement Specialist

The Center for Justice Innovation is seeking a Youth Engagement Specialist to support as a Mentor in working with youth justice initiatives participants ages 13 to 18. The position involves developing and overseeing mentorship programming activities, engaging in one-on-one relationships with mentees and their families, and facilitating group programming. The specialist will work individually and with a team to assist participants in addressing individual and societal factors that may impact their behavior.

Requirements

• High school diploma with 2-5 years of experience working with youth from marginalized communities and/or youth who have been involved in the juvenile or criminal system, or equivalent lived experience in a related area
• Valid driver's license
• Strong knowledge of community resources in the North Shore of Staten Island
• Computer literacy and knowledge of the juvenile justice system
