Radiology Technologist I - VBH/Full Time Evenings

Performs radiographic procedures, cares for patients, and assists physicians in the administration of radiopaque media. Administers non-radioactive contrast and maintains patient records.

Requirements

• Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices
• Reviews and evaluates developed x-rays or computer-generated information
• Positions imaging equipment and adjusts controls
• Explains procedures and observes patients
• Operates or oversees operation of radiologic equipment
• Records, processes, and maintains patient data or treatment records
• Administers intravenous contrast media as directed
• Practices aseptic techniques and good infection control procedures
• Secures and returns supplies and maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the work areas
• Maintains patient records by inputting patient examination information into the Radiology Information System (RIS) and documenting changes made to examination
• Assesses quality of radiographs and ensures imaging outcome assessment meets departmental standards
