Senior Power Electronics Engineer II

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer II to join our team. The successful candidate will own end-to-end design of power converters and power management and control circuits, from concept and architecture definition to schematic, PCB design, testing, qualification, production transition and production support.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 6 years of industry or university research experience in board-level power electronics design, analysis, and test.
• Experience owning the design phase of power electronics or power subsystems, including power architecture and requirements definition, trade studies, power converter and analog electronics design, component selection, and detailed design.
• Experience performing or guiding complex PCB layout for analog and power electronics.
• Experience with analysis and simulation tools such as SPICE, LTSPICE, SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, PLECS, Simulink, MATLAB, or MathCAD
• Strong laboratory testing and troubleshooting experience for prototyping, design verification testing and qualification of analog and power electronics hardware.
• Direct experience designing high-reliability electronics for automotive, space or defense applications, including part derating, worst-case analysis, and thermal constraints.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
