SLEEPAWAY CAMP VOLUNTEER

We seek a Sleepaway Camp Volunteer to plan, organize, and lead daily recreational activities for campers. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt activities to meet the interests and needs of campers, ensure their safety and well-being, and foster teamwork and positive participation. The volunteer will also assist in preparing camp facilities, communicate with staff and leadership, and participate in camp-wide events.

Requirements

• Plan, organize, and lead daily recreational activities
• Adapt activities to meet the interests, skill levels, and needs of campers
• Ensure activities are safe, engaging, and aligned with camp goals
• Foster teamwork and encourage positive participation during group activities
• Supervise and monitor campers throughout the day
• Maintain a constant presence in assigned activity areas
• Respond to camper needs and behaviors in a calm, supportive manner
• Act as a role model by maintaining appropriate conduct and setting a positive example for campers
• Ensure campers are properly hydrated, fed, and dressed for outdoor activities
• Promote and exemplify the camp’s core values
• Attend pre-camp training sessions
• Assist in preparing camp facilities and activity areas
• Communicate effectively with staff and camp leadership
• Document and report any incidents or concerns regarding campers’ well-being
• Participate in camp-wide events, ceremonies, and other special activities
• Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude
