The Director of Business Development is responsible for generating and growing new client relationships for Charity Search Group through a combination of trusted relationships, modern outbound outreach, and consultative engagement.
Requirements
- Background in fundraising, development, nonprofit leadership, executive search, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with nonprofit executives, board members, and senior advancement leaders
- Strong understanding of nonprofit governance, fundraising structures, and leadership decision-making
- Experience generating opportunities through professional networks, referrals, and/or targeted outreach
- Comfort engaging in consultative conversations about leadership hiring, organizational capacity, and risk
- Familiarity with CRM-based outreach tools (email and LinkedIn), including sequencing and personalization, or a strong willingness to learn
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to build credibility, listen effectively, and guide strategic discussions
- Highly self-directed and organized, with the ability to manage pipeline activity in a remote, part-time role
