Job Description
The La Plata High School Assistant Boys Lacrosse Coach will develop an effective coaching program, focusing on skill development, practice planning, and supervision of all levels of the sport. This role involves communicating with the head coach, student-athletes, parents, and administration, and ensuring adherence to all school and county policies. The position is a 12-month, part-time, non-exempt temporary position.
Requirements
- Teachers or certificated professional educators employed by the local Board of Education
- Persons certifiable as professional educators by the State Department of Education according to 13A.12.01
- Credentialed coaches who meet the following requirement: Are eligible to hold a Maryland certificate under COMAR 13A.12.01
- Possess a MPSSAA/MSDE Coaching Certification
- Completed two years of successful coaching as an emergency coach
- Spent the previous one year as a successful emergency coach at the school of hire in the position of hire
- Knowledge of Charles County Public Schools Extra-Curricular Handbook
- Adherence to all school, county, and state policies
- Ability to secure building during each practice
- Ability to secure building after each practice and game
