Job Description
The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring work areas are safe and sanitary, and maintaining a safe environment. The ideal candidate has previous food services experience and a secondary school education, with certificates in Food Safe, Smart Serve, and First Aid preferred.
Requirements
- Previous food services experience in a retirement residence, long term care residence or other hospitality environment
- Completion of secondary school education or equivalent
- Food Safe Level 1 Certificate
- Smart Serve Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions in English
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
- Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints
