The Assistant Cross Country Coach will instruct student athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for individual and team success, while developing moral values, self-discipline, and self-confidence. The coach will also be responsible for promoting good community relations and reporting to the head coach and athletic director.
Requirements
- Reports to the head coach and high school athletic director
- Responsible for supervising all aspects of their level of the program
- Provides information to the head coach regarding scores, schedules, sites, discipline concerns, and procedures
- Schedules and attends practice sessions
- Develops and implements individual/team training plans
- Ensures each athlete is cleared from the athletic office to participate
- Complies with rules and regulations established by CCSD, Centennial League, and Colorado High School Activities Association
- Monitors athlete's attendance/behavior/academic status
- Uses approved first-aid and CPR skills
- Understands signs and symptoms of concussion and removes players exhibiting signs and symptoms
