The Counselor Intern will provide counseling services to students and parents/guardians, utilize counseling and consultation techniques to promote student engagement and motivation, and assist students in identifying interests and making academic progress consistent with their postgraduate plans.
Requirements
- Working towards a Master’s degree in school counseling
- Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite
- Basic knowledge of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) national model
- Ability to effectively learn and use common school software
- Ability to work cooperatively with and engage in active participation with teachers, teaching assistants and other mental health and general education personnel
- Ability to adhere to professional ethical standards and guidelines
