The Woods Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of all woods-related programs and offsite trips, including supervising and coordinating staff, planning and running programs, and ensuring participant and staff safety.
Requirements
- Two (2) or more years in a post-secondary degree or equivalent experience
- Previous professional experience working within a camp environment, strongly preferred
- Experience working with children and/or youth, preferably our population
- Personal, professional, or educational experiences in a related field (education, recreation, social work, psychology, etc.)
- Experience implementing behaviour/social/emotional interventions and using counselling skills
- Ability to assume responsibility and exercise good judgment in making decisions within the scope of authority of the position
- Must have a current and valid police record check with vulnerable sector screening
- Must have/acquire Standard First Aid with CPR C
- Demonstrated ability to work in a respectful and aware manner with groups from diverse background and experiences
- Experience with outdoor programming, such as archery, orienteering, fire/shelter building, water purification, plant identification, camping skills, etc.
- Bronze Cross swimming qualifications or higher, is strongly preferred
