We are seeking a Certified Breastfeeding Peer Counselor to provide basic lactation information and services to mothers in the NICU and high-risk antepartum setting at Children's Wisconsin.
Requirements
- Certification as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor through a recognized, professional certification program within one year of hire
- High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED)
- Ability to communicate effectively with women and families from a variety of ethnic, cultural and economic backgrounds
- Ability to work collaboratively with CW physicians, nurses, social workers, fellow breastfeeding peer counselors and other healthcare providers
- Ability to work efficiently and complete assignments independently and with excellent attention to detail
