Job Description
Medical Assistant provides patient care in a clinical office setting, assisting with registration, vital sign monitoring, minor procedures, and administrative tasks. They maintain compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations and contribute to a positive patient experience and lab results.
Requirements
- Must be Certified
- Greeting patients
- Register patients in patient portal
- Triage patients following HIPAA guidelines
- Maintain accurate medical/surgical/family history in EMR
- Assist with minor procedures
- Comply with OSHA regulations
- Proper handling of blood/body fluid contamination
- Vision/hearing screenings
- Administer immunizations
- Call in prescriptions
- Perform basic lab tests
- Record test results in EMR/linked systems
- Complete community care well visit appointments
