Senior Underwriter, Industry Practices

Reporting to the manager, Industry Practices, the Senior Underwriter plays a crucial role in assessing and evaluating the risks involved in insuring, developing knowledge and expertise in the Underwriting space.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of insurance policies, principles and procedures
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Achieve financial targets for allocated Broker panel
• Deliver set Distribution activities (Broker Visits, Key Account Management, Prospecting, New Business generation)
• Appropriate use of delegated Underwriting authority
• Appropriate risk assessment process
• Development & execution of personal Distribution plan for assigned Broker panel
• Close collaboration with property, financial lines and casualty departments
• Participate in joint travel/presentations
