Solutions Engineering & Introduction

Ciena is looking for a dynamic and versatile engineer to support their Network Management Applications and Network Design Tools. As a key technical player on the Solutions Engineering & Introduction team, you will develop and present technical deliverables to enable the introduction of new product features and solution functionality. This customer-facing role includes working with Ciena's largest customers, creating customer-specific documentation, and executing acceptance test cases.

Requirements

• Minimum bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
• Solid Optical networking knowledge
• IP networking knowledge
• Experience in multi-layer (IP over DWDM) network management
• Strong knowledge of AI technologies and concepts
• Good knowledge of Linux Operating Systems
• Good knowledge of virtualized environments
• Good knowledge of cloud-based application deployment techniques
• Database knowledge
• Experience with messaging services
• Experience with Monitoring Technologies
• Experience with REST API interfaces and tools
• Understanding of Security, Radius authentication, etc.
• Understanding of Agile / DevOps, continuous development, integration and deployment
• Ability to build strong relationships with peers and internal / external customers
• Ability to create / present presentations and articulate complex ideas
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
• Flexibility to work across time zones and availability for some travel
• Ability to work in a competitive environment with changing or ambiguous requirements
