Manufacturing Engineer

Requirements

• Define, maintain, and control technical standards for use by Manufacturing Engineers
• Define process control requirements and lead PFMEA activities
• Support the growth of constructive relationships between all departments of the organization and globally
• Mentor and develop the technical abilities of other employees
• Evaluate complex manufacturing processes
• Participate in the evaluation, procurement, and start-up of new capital equipment
• Lead trouble shooting efforts on and off the shop floor
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications
• Travel as needed
• Provide manufacturing and manufacturability input for production planning, design, or repair
• Participate in or lead continuous improvement projects that support the Lean Manufacturing methodology
• Engage with vendors to arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts
• Design layout of equipment and workspace to maximize efficiency
• Takes initiative to solve complex engineering problems and coordinate with other functional areas as needed
• Produce comprehensive and complete engineering technical documentation
• Demonstrate effective communication through interaction with customers
• Lead continuous improvement activities
• Mentor junior manufacturing engineers
• Provide technical guidance to small and mid-size engineering project teams
• Regarded as a 'Go-To' Technical Specialist
