Equipment Operator/ General Laborer

COTA is seeking a reliable and experienced Construction Equipment Operator / General Laborer to join our team. This position is responsible for safely operating construction equipment while also performing general labor duties on job sites as needed.

Requirements

• Operate construction equipment including excavators, skid steers, loaders, backhoes, dozers, rollers, and compactors
• Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance (fueling, greasing, cleaning)
• Follow blueprints, grade stakes, and instructions from supervisors
• Assist with site preparation, excavation, trenching, grading, and backfilling
• Work safely around underground utilities and active job sites
• Communicate effectively with ground crews and spotters
• Identify and report mechanical issues, safety hazards, or site concerns
• Maintain production standards while meeting project schedules
• Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized
• Comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
• Assist with site preparation, grading, trenching, and cleanup
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
• Perform manual labor including lifting, digging, shoveling, and carrying materials
• Support other crew members as needed to maintain productivity
