Cirrus Aircraft is currently hiring an Aircraft Systems Engineer focused on the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS). The engineer is responsible for design, development, integration, and certification of systems such as complex mechanisms, textiles, composites, and pressurized systems.
Requirements
- Requirements, Design, Traceability, and Installation of on-aircraft equipment
- Ensure system requirements comply with Part 23, ASTMs, and other regulatory, industry requirements, or MIL standards
- Complete project assignments and takes responsibility for designs and design outcomes
- Integration Test definition, execution, and troubleshooting
- Interface and collaborate with various aircraft disciplines
- Perform system analysis and modeling
- Perform trade studies involving weight, cost, reliability, and manufacturability
- Active involvement in development and certification of aircraft systems under FAR Part 23 or Part 25
- Research industry guidance documents for best practices
- Support technical publications
- Support periodic travel for Technical Interchange Meetings, Program Reviews, Testing, and Aircraft Field Support
- Interpret and use aircraft technical documentation
- Participates in personal and department’s continuous improvement activities
- Anticipates projects tasks and provides guidance to junior engineers
