Job Description
The Police Officer performs duties in the protection of life and property and the preservation of order in Andover. The employee must accept the responsibility to support and promote this organization’s mission and comply with its directives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Prior experience is not required. One to three years of law enforcement experience is desirable
- Must not have a felony conviction and no disqualifying criminal history within the past 10 years
- Requires a valid Kansas Driver’s License, with no recent record of suspension or revocation in any state
- Graduation from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC) or equivalent with approved reciprocity by the Kansas Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (KSCPOST) within one year of hire date
- Must maintain law enforcement training requirements as required by Kansas Statute 74-5607a(b)
