Zoning Inspector

This position has the responsibility of conducting on-site inspections for compliance to the Atlanta Zoning Ordinance and other related codes, as well as reviewing and conducting complex research for the documentation of legal non-conforming uses. The incumbent must represent the City at public meetings and functions as required, and provide best in class customer service to both internal and external customers.

Requirements

• Enforces the zoning ordinance and other applicable laws and codes for the City of Atlanta
• Conducts case reviews and generates statistical reports for executive staff, City Council, and the Mayor's Office
• Attends BZA hearings, court hearings, and legal meetings when required
• Provides best in class customer service when responding to telephone calls and office visits from constituents
• Issues correction notices and citations
• Reviews and approves sign permits in accordance with the zoning ordinances
