Street Operations Specialist responsible for operating heavy mechanized equipment to construct, repair and maintain city streets and projects for the Public Works Department. The role involves operating heavy equipment, performing tasks such as large asphalt patching, road grading, hauling material and equipment, and assisting in training other employees in equipment operation. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least three years of experience in the operation of medium and heavy equipment related to street construction and maintenance, and a valid Colorado Class A CDL, tanker endorsement, no tractor trailer restriction.
Requirements
- Operate heavy equipment such as road graders, front-end loaders, paving and milling machines, conveyer loaders and other related equipment.
- Perform tasks such as large asphalt patching, road grading, hauling material and equipment, asphalt overlay, drain and trench cleaning, excavation and backfill.
- Perform snow and ice control operations shifts being a lead for other department operators.
- Services, maintains, and makes minor mechanical adjustments and minor repairs on assigned equipment.
- Will assist in training other employees in equipment operation.
- Will act as a Lead Worker supporting and working with the Street Supervisors
- May investigate citizen work order request or accidents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Acting Supervisor when experience and judgement allow
