The City of Aurora is seeking a Water Utility Worker - Transmission & Distribution to perform manual labor duties and assist with routine maintenance and repair functions for the Aurora Water Department. Employees in this position will demonstrate their work by modeling the Core 4 Values of: Customer Service, Professionalism, Integrity, and Respect.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1-year work experience related to manual labor
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time
- Ability to understand oral and written instructions
- Ability to operate or receive training on various types of maintenance and construction equipment
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds repetitively
- Ability to work overtime, call back duty, and standby with forty five-minute response times
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
- Skill in the use of ground maintenance equipment and the use of hand tools preferred
