Job Description
The Public Safety Dispatcher is responsible for answering telephone calls, dispatching police, fire, and ambulance units, and providing assistance in emergency situations. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and a two- or four-year degree from an accredited college is preferred.
Requirements
- Be thoroughly familiar with the department's procedures relating to the use of radio and other communications equipment
- Answer all telephone calls promptly and appropriately
